About this job

Committed to Our Community in the Heart of the Redwoods. Removing Barriers to Healthcare Access

ECHC Eureka Community Health Center

Join a Team That Cares for the Whole Person—and the Whole Community

At Open Door Community Health Centers, we believe every patient deserves compassionate, whole-person care that supports their physical, emotional, and social well-being. We’re looking for a Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) to join our integrated care team at Eureka Community Health Center, Eureka, California, the heart of the true north coast.

The Opportunity

As a BHC, you’ll play a key role on our interdisciplinary care team—collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, case managers, and dental/medical assistants to identify, triage, plan, manage, and provide primary behavioral health services for patients with overlapping physical and behavioral health needs. You will provide assessment, therapeutic treatment, referral, support, education, and skill-training through a variety of strategies focused on addressing specific behavioral changes in support of improved physical, social, and mental health. Patients are served in individual settings, in-person or via tele-health.

This is a dynamic position ideal for someone who values collaboration, continuity of care, and community impact.

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree (LCSW/LMFT/Ph.D/Psy.D)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), or Clinical Psychologist in California (active and in good standing)
  • Experience in similar position in a community health center or outpatient mental health clinic
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, CBT, play therapy, and family-centered approaches
  • Collaborative, flexible, and dedicated to serving diverse communities.
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply

Eureka is historic coastal city that sits along Humboldt Bay and is known as the heart of California’s Redwood Coast. The area offers abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation, including hiking, kayaking, and fishing. The community is known for its vibrant arts scene, Victorian architecture, a range of public, charter, and private school options, along with a strong sense of community reflected in local events, youth sports, and year-round markets and festivals.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package
  • Loan repayment eligibility through NHSC and state programs up to 250k
  • Supportive, team-based work environment with mentorship and training
  • Opportunities for professional growth and continuing education
  • A culture that values work-life balance, inclusion, and wellness

Compensation:

  • LCSW/LMFT: $91,336.00 to $104,627.20
  • Clinical Psychologist: $100,280.00 to $114,860.80
