Company Description
Kingdom Builders Transitional Housing Program (KBTHP), operating under the Oakland Dream Center, is a community-based organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing housing instability as they work toward long-term stability, self-sufficiency, and overall well-being. Based in Oakland, California, KBTHP provides safe, structured, and service-enriched housing environments for individuals navigating complex life transitions, including re-entry from the justice system, youth aging out of foster care, and those facing economic and behavioral health challenges.
KBTHP operates multiple residential programs, including re-entry housing for justice-involved adults and a co-ed Transitional Housing Program (THP) for Transition-Age Youth (TAY), ages 18–25. Across its programs, KBTHP delivers a comprehensive, wraparound service model that integrates housing with individualized case management, employment and education support, life skills development, and behavioral health resources. Programs are staffed 24/7 to ensure safety, accountability, and consistent support for all residents.
Rooted in a Housing First and trauma-informed care approach, KBTHP meets participants where they are while maintaining high expectations paired with strong support systems. Residents are guided through individualized service plans that focus on securing employment, advancing education, improving financial literacy, strengthening mental health, and building the skills necessary for independent living.
KBTHP works in close partnership with local government agencies, community-based organizations, behavioral health providers, workforce development programs, and educational institutions across Alameda County. Through these partnerships, the organization ensures that residents have access to coordinated, holistic care and pathways to permanent housing.
With a strong commitment to equity, dignity, and opportunity, KBTHP is focused on breaking cycles of homelessness and system involvement by creating environments where individuals can rebuild their lives, strengthen their support networks, and achieve lasting stability.
